Operations Manager

Astute’s Power team is exclusively partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit an Operations Manager to work at a Biomass Plant in Nottingham.
This crucial Operations Manager role comes with a salary of £50,000 – £55,000 + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will:

• Oversee the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a 6.8MW steam turbine, biomass boiler, and associated auxiliary plant.
• Lead and manage a team of Shift Team Leaders, ensuring operational and availability targets are met.
• Implement and maintain best practices in operational safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
• Monitor plant performance and processes to optimise output and reliability.

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

• Apprentice-trained craftsperson.
• ONC/HNC qualification in an engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of process flow and plant systems.
• Proven leadership experience in a similar operational role.
