EPC Recruiter Lucy Pook joined Astute in 2023 as a Senior Recruitment Partner.
Lucy works in Astute’s Power – EPC team, recruiting Contract roles such as HSE Specialists, Project Managers and Site Managers for leading businesses in the EPC space.
She spoke to Astute’s Head of Marketing, James Leslie, about why she loves working for Astute and her favourite thing about being an EPC Recruiter in the contract Power sector.
How did you get into recruitment?
I actually started as a temp through an agency as my first job and loved the way they helped and supported me through the process, so I enquired about an internal position and the rest is history!
What’s your favourite thing about working as a EPC Recruiter at Astute?
Coming from a background of recruitment with various agencies, I can honestly say the company, incentives, social side and general work-life balance and flexibility at Astute is the best there is and I have been offered.
What have you enjoyed most about your recent successes as a EPC Recruiter?
Building big accounts with clients and a consistent contract desk!
What’s the most exciting thing about your market?
The sector is huge making a positive impact in the world and with a contract desk it is fast paced and no two days are ever the same.
What advice would you give to those looking for a recruitment career or considering joining Astute?
Recruitment isn’t for everyone, there are ups and down days but it is so rewarding and the commission is definitely worth it!
