Astute’s Power team are recruiting for a Plant Manager to work at a Hydro Station which consists of 65MW 4 turbine scheme, the second largest in the country. As a Plant Manager you are responsible for the safe & efficient operation of the plant, including managing, developing and motivating the team.

The Plant Manager will play a vital part in managing and co-ordinating activities, minimising downtime and driving improvements along with ensuring the site is producing clean zero-carbon electricity.

Responsibilities and duties
Working as the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for:

Leading the team in safety improvements and compliance
Ensuring the station meets and exceeds all environmental obligations
Managing a high performing station through good communication and performance measures
Engaging with stakeholders to maintain good working relationships
Ensure the plant is operated to maximum efficiency meeting its key performance indicators.
Maintaining commercial focus with suppliers and contractors.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Qualification in Engineering, ideally degree level – mechanical & electrical background
Proven management experience
Minimum 7 years working within a heavy industry or engineering facilities.

Personal skills

The Plant Manager role would suit someone who is:

Experienced with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work under pressure
Excellent attention to detail
