Keegan Gibling is an IT Assistant at Astute, providing essential technical support and maintaining the company’s hardware, software, and cybersecurity.
For Astute’s Our People Profile series, Keegan spoke to us about his journey so far.
What do you do for Astute?
I am an IT Assistant, responsible for providing technical support across the company.
My role includes maintaining our hardware and software, as well as ensuring that our cybersecurity measures are as robust as possible.
Essentially, I’m here to keep the tech running smoothly so everyone else can do their best work.
What is your favourite thing about working at Astute?
The people, definitely.
The atmosphere here is incredibly supportive, and it feels like everyone genuinely wants each other to succeed.
It’s the kind of environment where both personal and professional growth are encouraged, and it’s also just a fun place to be.
Whether you’re learning something new or just having a chat, there’s a sense of camaraderie that makes every day enjoyable.
What have you enjoyed most about your recent projects?
The most enjoyable part has been being responsible for ensuring that everything works without a hitch and making sure nothing breaks along the way!
It was a new experience for me to step into more of a formal leadership role, and that brought its own challenges, but it was also extremely rewarding. It’s interesting to see the direct impact of your work when everything is running as it should.
What is the most exciting thing about your role?
The fact that it’s always changing.
Technology moves so fast, and there’s always something new to learn, whether it’s new software, new tools, or new ways of working.
It keeps things interesting, and I love the challenge of finding solutions to problems, especially those that have you stumped for a while.
When you finally figure it out, it’s a great feeling.
What advice would you give to someone looking to join Astute?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, and be prepared to grow.
Astute is a place where curiosity is rewarded, and there’s always an opportunity to learn something new.
The support here is amazing, and if you’re open to it, you’ll find plenty of ways to develop both personally and professionally.
