The company run and own landfill gas assets and have a growth plan into the Anaerobic Digestion sector too. We’re looking for an Electrical Technician to join their team of multi-skilled technicians, that are responsible for complex fault diagnosis and maintenance on reciprocating engines, generators, electrical distribution and controls on power stations, to ensure optimum production and reduced downtime. - Lead fault diagnostics for reciprocating engine electrical/electronic controls, instrumentation, LV/HV apparatus, and balance-of-plant systems to enhance power station performance and revenue generation.
- Support 24/7 operation of the power station’s generating units and ancillary equipment in accordance with standard procedures, ensuring maximum efficiency and revenue generation.
- Perform planned and corrective maintenance on electrical, electronic, control, and instrumentation systems to enhance reliability, improve productivity, and minimise generating unit downtime.
- Develop and implement solutions for operational and maintenance challenges – communicating new ideas to solve problems.
- Stock control – maintain a steady stream of spare parts and components, especially any that require regular changes.
- Accurately record and report routine inspections and reactive maintenance works.
- Stay informed about relevant health and safety, operating procedures and standards, including those related to Health & Safety (HSE), the Environment Agency, ATEX/DSEAR, and technical regulations within your discipline.
| | | Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
- Demonstrable experience in industrial electrical inspection, testing, fault finding and maintenance – preferably in a power station, high voltage or other industrial environment.
- City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Electrical discipline – such as Testing & Inspection, Electrical Installation, Electrical Power Systems Engineering etc.
- Apprenticeship served in an industrial electrical environment would be advantageous but not essential.
- LV/HV (Low or High Voltage) authorised tickets would be advantageous but not essential.
- Understanding of HV switching operations a strong advantage.
- Experience in fault finding electrical systems inside power stations, substations or other energy plant would be a strong advantage.
- Computer literate, using MS office, SAP and inhouse data/tracking systems.
- Able to understand engineering drawings and diagrams.
- Must hold a valid driving license.
