Matt joined Astute in February 2007 as a Trainee Consultant and now serves as Managing Director. He sets the vision, aligns objectives, and coordinates the whole business so teams move in the same direction. Matt leads strategy and overall performance of the recruitment function, building on what works rather than chasing radical change, and empowering people to do their best work.
With nearly two decades at Astute, Matt has progressed through Consultant, Senior Consultant, and Team Leader roles in Power. He has a strong record of partnering with clients and candidates to deliver consistent results, helping establish Astute as a trusted supplier of technical talent across Power Generation, Renewables, and Nuclear. He works closely with the Commercial Director, Head of Sales, and Head of Strategic Growth to connect day to day delivery with long term growth. This includes supporting UK expansion and enabling US development.
Matt believes high performance starts with trust and clear accountability. He champions straightforward communication, data led decisions, and service standards that protect outcomes for clients and candidates. Outside work, Matt supports local community initiatives and enjoys time with his family.
